Overlooking the Indian Ocean, south of Jogjakarta (Java)

This is one of our favorite hotels in Java. Standing on the top of Parangtretes cliffs it has a unique ambiance, very Javanese (soft, slow, relaxing) and as well very much in contact with the surrounding nature (violence of the Indian Ocean).

The lobby and the restaurant are of the purest Javanese architecture and design. The swimming-pool and the bar are gorgeously overlooking the sea. You can go down to the beach (2 minutes) by using the hotel’s private path and get in touch with the local inhabitants, and maybe ask to be driven along the beach in a “dokar” (Javanese traditional carriage).

You may also walk to nearby caves. The bungalows display a good level of luxury, and have got air con, minibar, international TV and phone lines. This is the perfect place to stay if you want to discover the region of Jogjakarta and still enjoy leisure time at the beach.
